Adey Here ("we," "us," or "our") operates a location-based social application that allows users to create and join temporary, geofenced digital communities ("Spaces") for events, meetups, and gatherings. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
2. Information We Collect
a) Account Information
- Email address and authentication method (Google OAuth, email/password, or anonymous sign-in)
- Display name and emoji avatar you choose
- User ID generated by our authentication provider
b) Location Data
- Your precise geographic location (latitude and longitude) when you use the app
- Location is used to show your position on the map, detect when you enter/exit Spaces, and enable nearby interactions
- Location data is stored only while Spaces are active and is not retained long-term
c) Content You Create
- Chat messages sent in Spaces
- Interactions you send (waves, winks, high-fives)
- Announcements, Q&A posts, and Lost & Found items you create
- Friend connections and direct messages
d) Device Information
- Device type and operating system
- Push notification tokens (if you enable notifications)
- Browser type and version (on web)
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Adey Here service
- To match you with nearby Spaces and other users
- To enable real-time chat and interactions within Spaces
- To allow hosts to moderate their Spaces (kick, ban, broadcast)
- To send push notifications you have opted into
- To improve our service and fix bugs
- To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information only in these cases:
- Within Spaces: Your display name, avatar, and location are visible to other participants in the same Space.
- With Hosts: Space hosts can see participants and manage their Space (kick, ban, view analytics).
- Service Providers: We use Supabase for authentication, database, and real-time services, and Vercel for hosting. These providers process data on our behalf.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of users.
5. Data Retention
- Profiles: Retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time.
- Spaces: Automatically expire based on their set duration (30 minutes to 6 hours). Data is cleaned up after expiration.
- Messages: Tied to active Spaces and expire when the Space expires.
- Friend Connections: Persistent until you remove a friend.
- Location Data: Not stored long-term. Only used in real-time to position you on the map.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- Ghost Mode: You can become invisible to others at any time.
- Location: You can deny location access in your browser/device settings, but the app cannot function without it.
- Account Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Notifications: You can disable push notifications in your device settings.
- Data Access: You can request a copy of your data by contacting us.
7. Children's Privacy
Adey Here is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted database connections (SSL/TLS), row-level security policies in our database, and secure authentication via Supabase. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
